To be completely honest any and every instant coffee hits me very strongly and I just cannot drink it. I did try 1 packet of Crazy Calm and it was a bit mellower than most. I suggest a couple packets for the full flavor.
Crazy Calm a CBD Coffee Company out of Austin, Texas has made a CBD Coffee for on the go. We had the pleasure of being able to ask Matt Aaron, the founder of Crazy Calm some questions.
Interview with Matt Aaron / Founder of Crazy Calm
Are you a coffee or a CBD company? What kind of marriage was made here? We are neither a coffee company or a CBD company, but a CBD coffee company. We source freeze-dried organic coffee (right now Mexico) and CBD (Colorado) and mix it together. So we partner with suppliers, but no outward facing coffee or CBD brands for now.
What and when was the light bulb moment to marry these to great things loved by all… CBD and Coffee? It actually started last year when I was buying CBD infused ground coffee and brewing it every day. I travel quite a bit and I needed something that was convenient, airport friendly and easy to mix at random beaches, hotels / airbnbs / coworking spaces etc. So my co-founder and I decided to create on-the-go CBD coffee.
Is there a THC Coffee in the future for Crazy Calm? We would consider it, but only after more regulatory clarity.
Is there flavors offered? At the moment, only the original. But we are likely to expand to more flavors later this year.
What stage is the CBD Coffee market in? Is this something that is new or been around awhile? The CBD Coffee market is very new. Many CBD shops we have started to sell to have to educate a lot of their customers on what CBD is in the first place. While it may seem like everyone knows about CBD, only a small niche of Americans have tried it. This is an early, growing market.
What do you see for Crazy Calm in 2020? Lots of product education and connection with CBD and outdoors stores across the continental United States. Hopefully some fun events in Austin and Vermont.
Can you tell us about your Business Back-round? Sure. I’ve had quite a few adventures. Here are some highlights:
I created and ran the Bitcoin.com podcast network from Jan 2018 – Dec 2019 recording and publishing 231 episodes, with guests including Vinny Lingham, Erik Voorhees, Apolo Ohno, Patrick Byrne, Erik Finman, John McAfee, and many more. This is relevant today, as I’m an advocate for cryptocurrency use in the cannabis space. During that time, I also managed Bitcoin.com’s efforts in Latin America. I’m also a veteran in the food industry. I have been exporting exotic Colombian fruits to the U.S. since 2015 and created and sold the Food Startups Podcast.
Can you tell us about your schooling? Well I graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of Maryland in 2006, but I can say that I have NEVER used my diploma. Not once. I started reading in 2008 and have read 600+ books since then. That has helped tremendously.
What other Products do you have to promote? We sell awesome stainless steel mugs. Rugged and elegant.
